Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 11th, 2026

1. Data controller

2. What personal data is processed?

This is a personal, non-commercial blog. No data is collected through contact forms, newsletters, or analytics. The only personal data processed is what you voluntarily provide when leaving a comment:

  • The name or alias you provide
  • Your email address
  • The content of your comment
  • The IP address and browser user agent of the device you comment from, which WordPress stores automatically for security and spam-prevention purposes

If you check the box “Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment,” your browser will store a cookie containing that information. This cookie is optional and is only created if you explicitly enable it.

3. Gravatar

This site uses the Gravatar avatar service, owned by Automattic Inc. When you leave a comment, your email address (as a hash, not in plain text) is sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have an avatar associated with it and display it alongside your comment. This involves a data transfer to a US-based provider. You can review Gravatar/Automattic’s privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy.

4. Purpose and legal basis

Data submitted through the comment form is used exclusively to:

  • Publish and manage your comment
  • Prevent spam and abusive comments
  • Reply to your comment, where applicable

Legal basis: your consent, freely given when you submit a comment.

Your data is not used for advertising purposes, nor sold or shared with third parties, except as described regarding Gravatar.

5. Data retention

Comments and their metadata (including the IP address) are retained indefinitely, so that follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue. You may request their deletion at any time (see section 6).

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request the erasure of your data (for example, a comment you left)
  • Object to processing, or request restriction of it
  • Data portability, where technically feasible

To exercise any of these rights, send an email to contact@alanandr.eu.

If you believe your data has not been processed in accordance with the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD)www.aepd.es, or with your local EU data protection authority.

7. Security

Reasonable technical measures have been taken to protect the personal data processed, consistent with a site hosted on the WordPress platform with the corresponding security updates applied.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site (for example, if analytics or advertising are added in the future). The “last updated” date at the top indicates the current version.
